Malagousia is now a well-known indigenous Greek variety but was revived only about 40 years ago. Now it's cultivated all over Greece, producing aromatic wines with moderate acidity. Ktima Kissa take advantage of their high elevation vineyards to produce a more mineral, fresher style The grapes are handpicked in 20kg bins and pressed gently as whole clusters (without de-stemming or crushing) in order to preserve the natural acidity and reduce any bitterness. In addition, the pH also stays low which allows minimum levels of SO 2. Pineapple aromas, some richness and weight on the palate, lime and stone fruit giving way to more savoury tones on a mineral spine with refreshing acidity: concentrated and lush, a delightful summer wine.
