La Motte Sauvignon Blanc 2019
90% Sauvignon Blanc, 10% Semillon. Fruit from Franschhoek (30%), Stellenbosch (50%), Elgin (5%), Walker Bay (10%) and Elim (5%). Grapes were harvested at between 17 and 23 Brix to capture natural acids and produce fuller, riper flavours. The process was reductive, with cold fermentation (14 C). 3 months to enhance complexity. Fresh aromatics, more citrus than herbaceous, on the palate dry, with citrus, grapefruit and a little tropical fruit with moderately full body. This really does tick all the boxes for a gluggable, really well-balanced SB at a fabulous price.
