Fontanabianca Barbaresco Bordini 2019
A pretty, deep-ruby core fading to a brick orange rim, aromas of dark fruit, wild strawberries and plums, on the palate elegant and refined with a supple texture, more ripe strawberries and plums, a little earthy and tarry, but, really, the fruit dominates more than the spicy notes. With a long finish marked by fresh acidity this is really charming.
From thirty year-old vines on clay-limestone soils, vinified in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks and aged in botte and barriques for 12-15 months
“delivers the goods with a bright, fruit-driven bouquet layered with dried cherry, licorice and mild spice. The precise focus of the bouquet is what stands out most in this classic vintage, along with the wine's firm and linear mouthfeel.” 2024-2038. (Monica Larner, The Wine Advocate, 95 points)
