The idea is to make a straightforward Sangiovese in a not so straightforward way: a vino di beva that in the end, when you dive in to it, is not so straightforward after all. Vinified with 15% whole bunches, foot-crushed with wild yeast fermentation and a long maceration in un-lined concrete tanks followed by 15 months’ ageing in same.
Pale plum in colour with aromas of bramble and red cherry, aromatic and floral. Very supple tannins and fresh acidity lend elegance to the style, while the cherry and berry notes are supplemented with tea-leaf. Charming and not without complexity. IGT Toscana
