Cayuse Cailloux Vineyard Syrah 2019
The first of Cayuse’s Walla Walla Valley vineyards, a 10-acre plot planted in the stones of Milton Freewater in 1997. .Co-fermented with 6% Viognier. Inky purple in colour, aromas of strawberry, cured meat, and iodine. On the palate there are pyrazine notes of tomato leaf and capsicum, bacon fat, lavender, wet stones, earth and black pepper. Medium to full-bodied, this is an elegant, really quite Northern Rhône style with fine acidity, grainy, supple tannin, excellent balance and a very long finish.
