A baby Taurasi, this is from the original Montemiletto vineyard at 400m. De-stemmed, maceration on skins of around 10-20 days with cool fermentation temperature before pressing off skins. 3-6 months in stainless steel tanks before 12 months in French oak barriques, 20% new, 80% second use. Only moderately dark in colour, moderately full-bodied with a palate characterised by secondary notes of violets and tobacco with morello cherry fruit, with grippy tannins and a savoury finish.
