Tara Viognier NV
From calcareous and alluvial soils on the third terrace of the river Huasco. in the Nicolasa area. A solera system wine blended with wines from the 2011 to 2016 vintages. Between 20% and 50% of grapes were whole cluster pressed. Fermented with native yeasts without input of sulphur dioxide or indeed anything other than grapes. From 2011 to 2014 all the juice was fermented in fifth use French oak barrels. From 2015 stainless steel barrels were used. Neither fined nor clarified. Aromatically complex with notes of orange blossom, lime, and dried fruit. The palate is broad but tense, with a saline note on the long finish.
