Trénel St Amour 2020

From the northernmost outpost of Beaujolais, in the Saône-et-loire, specifically the Domaine des Champs-Grillés where the soils are between the siliceous-clay of the Maconnais and the granite of the Beaujolais. Whole bunch maceration for 6-8 days followed by maturation in tanks and used barrels for 4-5 months before bottling. A vibrant purple colour, this opens up in the glass with intense raspberry and strawberry notes with a little smokiness. Fresh acidity and soft tannins with a pleasing graininess of texture and long length add up to a classy number.
