Two Vintners


Newly arrived and we're very excited by these fabulous wines! Two Vintners was founded in 2007 in a partnership between aspiring young winemaker, Morgan Lee and the owners of nearby Covington Cellars where he is also winemaker. Morgan is a talented and creative young winemaker taking a low-intervention, small-scale and experimental approach, sourcing grapes from a selection of vineyards across Washington and also Oregon.
Morgan’s wine journey began at a wine appreciation class at university, on which he enrolled partly because it allowed drinking in class on a Monday night. This inspired an experimental interest in fermentation and making wines in his basement. A harvest internship while taking a semester out from training for a culinary career led to a change in direction, a move from Michigan to Washington and the birth of Two Vintners. In 2007, Syrah and Merlot were the pariahs of the wine industry and perhaps not that much has changed since then. Morgan always believed these were the grapes with the best expression in Washington State and on the evidence of his wines it’s hard to deny.
Courage of conviction and a willingness to challenge the status quo in order to produce the delicious summarize the thinking at Two Vintners. The range we have selected focuses on the Rhône varieties, Zinfandel and an acutely small-production Orange Gewurztraminer.  {Winemaker: Morgan Lee}
