Tooth & Nail Wine Company  - Founded by grower Rob Murray and so named in reflection of the path of grit and determination he pursued on his way to establishing his own winery in Paso Robles. The winery and vineyard are in the Willow Creek District AVA of the Central Coast, a small district in the path of cool marine air that flows through the Templeton Gap, a notch in the coastal mountains. The vineyard soils are a mixture of limestone and clay. Fruit is also sourced from other Paso Robles and Central Coast vineyards that are under T&N’s viticultural control.

Rob grew up on a family farm in the Central Valley, moving to the Central Coast, where he learned winegrowing from the ground up. It was only after years in the vineyard trenches that Rob felt inspired to start his own winery, building upon everything he had learned and mastered in the field. Into this mix he brought his love of art, music and culture, producing wines and label designs that are more likely than not to inspire conversation.

The Tooth & Nail Wine Company has four different ranges. Led by winemaker Jeremy Leffert, each is different in style. The Squad range is a “post-dystopian-world-themed brand” that has unconventional cartoon-style labels, the wines having an overtly gluggable yet balanced and fresh style. Destinata is a small batch, minimal intervention range in clear glass bottles with native yeasts and no additives. The Tooth & Nail wines proper are inspired by the classic art of naturalist James Audubon: powerful yet elegant, unconventional blends. Finally, Amor Fati is the high-end range: single vineyard, varietally labelled wines of considerable elegance and tension.
