Since the inaugural vintage of the Decoy Napa Valley Red Wine more than 20 years ago, Decoy has taken an important place in the Duckhorn Wine Company family with a style of immediately drinkable wines capable of expressing their full charm and complexity in their youth. The range benefits from the talent, experience and expertise of all of the whole company’s winemakers, each of whom has a unique area of specialisation. Bill Nancarrow, executive winemaker, Napa Valley oversees the production of Decoy’s Bordeaux varietal wines. Paraduxx Winemaker David Marchesi oversees Decoy Zinfandel. Goldeneye Winemaker Zach Rasmuson works alongside Migration Winemaker Neil Bernardi to produce Decoy Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Like all the grapes used to make wines in the Duckhorn portfolio, fruit for the Decoy range comes from a mix of estate vineyards and top independent growers (primarily located in the Napa and Anderson valleys).
