| Las Alturas Pinot Noir |

This vineyard was named “Las Alturas (“the heights” or “the highest”) for two reasons. First, it is among the highest-planted vineyards in the Santa Lucia Highlands. Second, the name expresses Joey Wagner's goal to make one of the best Pinot Noirs in this appellation. When he planted this 15-acre vineyard, he matched specific Pinot Noir clones to the individual slopes of the land. This allowed him to create wines with great depth, balance and layered flavours. He feels that this wine, his first bottling from the vineyard, demonstrates both the characteristics and the potential of the site.
