The junior of Morgante's two Nero D'Avolas (or should that be Neros d'Avola)this offers tremendous bangs for your buck, lush fruit reminiscent of new world Syrah or Zinfandel with soft and elegant tannin. This is made for immediate consumption although it will happily keep for another couple of years. The 2006 vintage is as good as any we have tasted yet.
Notes
A deep, dark ruby colour with rich fruit aromas of blackcurrant, ripe black cherry and bilberry. On the palate more deep, spicy, slightly peppery fruit with vanilla, charming, full and elegant, the tannins are velvety and persistent.
