Dolcetto
Claudio Alario is a Dolcetto specialist and now produces no fewer than three separate single vineyard bottlings of this varietal. "Costafiore" is the most supple and ripe of the three from the eponymous vineyard planted around 40 years ago. It has a south-west exposure for enhanced ripening and soils of white marl on which Dolcetto thrives. This wine is always a charmer balancing rich ripe fruit with elegant and zesty acidity.
Notes
Vibrant Dolcetto, with lots of fresh plum, grape and mineral character. Medium-bodied, with well-integrated tannins and a rich, fruity finish. Drink now. 1,800 cases made. (The Wine Spectator)
