Barbera Valletta
The Valletta vineyard is over 50 years old. Harvest tends to be in mid-October after which the grapes are left to ferment for about 10 days in order to achieve good extraction and structure. The wine then spends 18 months in French barriques, 80% of it new and is bottled in the following year.
Notes
Gorgeous aromas of crushed fruit and toasted oak. Seductive. Full and velvety, with loads of fruit and chocolate. Long and delicious. Opulent wine. Drink now. 500 cases made. –JS (The Wine Spectator)
