Time of harvest: beginning to middle of October Fermentation: alcoholic fermentation for 7-8 days in rotofermenters at controlled temperature, malolactic fermentation in oak. Ageing: entirely in new, medium. toasted French oak for 20 – 22 months.Transfer to stainless steel vats for 3 months before bottling, ageing in bottles for another 12 months. Release: 3 years after harvest.
Notes
The most approachable of the estate’s three 2003 Barbarescos. Medium ruby in colour, it offers attractive suggestions of menthol, minerals, herbs, tobacco and over-ripe fruit with good length.
