Desert Wind Vineyard is located in Eastern Washington on the Wahluke Slope. This site is considered a zone 3, the hottest in the Columbia Valley; however, cool evenings allow for acid development. The 480-acre vineyard is a southern facing block with a 2% down hill slope.
The vines spread their roots through the sand and rock of the Eastern Washington desert seeking moisture. Their labour is intense as the sun beats down relentlessly. The grapes are small jewels, produced with great effort and concentrated in flavour. This wine embodies the elements of its creation; rich and ripe fruit flavours, powerful body and a hearty aroma.
