Claudio Alario

Claudio Alario is a talented grower-producer based in Diano D'Alba. He began solely with Dolcetto in 1988 having learnt the ropes at the Istituto Superiore di Agrario. (This may explain his continued and particular affection for this grape). Nebbiolo and Barbera followed and then, in 1995, Barolo. Claudio's vineyards are located in Diano d'Alba and also in Serralunga and Verduno. They are between 20 and 50 years old with excellent expositions. Not a man to brag about his own achievements Alario is one of the hidden gems of Piedmont. His philosophy is one of perpetual improvement, a process that is resulting in an ever higher quality of wine through better and better vineyard managment.
